There is lobster off the robata grill, spatchcocked poussin or lamb cutlets with parsley and black olives. Unfortunately, this restaurant's hours used to be heavily influenced by the weather. But a new design has come up with a solution: a heated glass-roofed, a glass-walled pergola that can be used year-round.

It was opened in the '70s, it changed its name to Buona Sera The Jam, and since 1992 on the King's Road. It offers an authentic Italian restaurant experience with an unmatched level of service. Climb high up and take a seat at the restaurant's top and enjoy your food for such a reasonable price. This is perfect for nights alone as you can escape up until your own secluded seating area where no one can disturb you.

The second French restaurant from the founders of Margaux, Bandol, is located in the heart of Chelsea. Inspired by Southern France flavours, Bandol gives you that luxurious dining feels without the price to match. Take yourself on a date and try some wines from the region to complement the food. This is a great option if you want to try dining alone with that expensive feeling.
$$$ Blakes Hotel
If you are looking to splash the cash in the heart of South Kensington and try and spot celebrities try the Blakes Hotel restaurant. Unsurprisingly, people often find themselves in a celebrity hot spot with such a high price list, but the place is worth it for those who want their off-duty escapism to be luxurious.
There are some classics - Scottish smoked salmon, risotto, and some Asian-inspired items - and a selection of more exotic dishes. The presentation of the restaurant's menu items is nearly as attractive as the clientele. You wouldn't know that they all have slender figures based on their dessert taste. It appears that they enjoy the high prices on the wine list, too.

Cheap and cheerful, try this funky cool hangout in Camden (in Peckham if you find yourself in the south instead). To Studio 54-esque music, punters drink fizz, wine and beer. The music mixes Afro Funk, rare groove and holiday house.
One of the most popular attractions at Near & Far is the food and drink. The cocktails here are particularly noteworthy: they have pisco & cachaça Sours that'll regularly make you want to come by. If you don't like Near & Far's olives or popcorn, then explore some of the other food options in this market. There are a lot of restaurants nearby that may have what you're looking for.

Best things to do in South London at night guide 2022
$ Pi Pizza
Originally in Winchester, Pi has now opened a buzzing, colourful Pizza restaurant in Battersea Rise, designed and owned by former fashion buyer Rosie Whaley. A 20-inch pizza with a secret dough recipe with a light, crispy base may not be exactly what you need if you’re looking for things to do in London alone at night, but just get a doggy bag! My favourite is the trio of goat's cheese, but if you are after a more meaty option, try the wild boar salami!
They have a wide variety of tempting drinks, including Italian beers, Cornish cider, and an extensive wine list. They also offer original cocktails like the refreshing Pear and Rhubarb Collins, which are my personal favourite. This is a perfect hangout if you are alone as the staff are so friendly and on hand to help with some great recommendations.

Tavolino is reasonably priced but hosts impressive views in the heart of London to help make nights alone not so lonely. Sit inside; there are plenty of seats that offer a fantastic view of Tower Bridge. The window has the floor to ceiling views of some of the iconic landmarks and the scenic views of London.
Once you're finished eating, a trip to the downstairs bar for a nightcap is highly recommended. Friendly, knowledgeable staff are happy to whip up all of the usual cocktails plus a range of Italian wines. Relax and take in the views over London and watch the busy world go by.
$$$ Hutong At The Shard
If you are looking to escape away from the city, rise sky high in the amazing Hutong restaurant at the Shard. Self-indulge at London's Hong Kong-based Aqua Group property, overflowing with beauty and prestige with its carved wood interiors, glamorous vibe, and incredible aerial views.
When you’re eating, you get a good view of the restaurant's kitchen in the back, and it is worth getting one of their signature dishes - for example, 'ma la' crispy eel spiced with dried chilli and cumin. It might be pricey, but we do believe it is worth the price, especially for nighttime views and things to do in London alone at night (if you have the cash!)
Best Central London Restaurants if you’re alone at night
$ Flat Iron
The flat iron is a go-to option for something that tastes expensive but doesn't leave your pockets burning. This Central London location is around the hustle and bustle of the city, but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg if you’re looking for things to do in London alone at night in 2022. The chain has been highly spoken about as it is affordable but very high quality.
The signature flat iron steak, typically considered the cheap cut of meat, is made using the feather blade cut. Sides include beef dripping chips (yum), spinach or something fresh like tomato basil and mozzarella! This is a fantastic option to treat yourself on them independent nights alone!
$$ Sabine
Sabine is a more pricy option in central London, but the 360 views make it worth every penny. With St Paul's Cathedral to the left and the right, the Shard, you really can see some of the best views of London’s landmarks on the outdoor terrace.
On a hot day, Sabine Rooftop Bar will be your best friend. But when it's cold, the restaurant is still full of atmosphere and perfect for sipping a drink with friends. It is weather-proof for all occasions and ideal for escaping or socialising if you’re looking for the best things to do in London alone at night.
The staff were attentive and friendly, and efficient - even though it is on the more expensive side, I didn’t feel like I had been robbed after!

Bob Bob Ricard in Soho has glam interiors and a grand. The interiors are jaw-dropping, featuring bespoke chandeliers and mirror-polished steel trim. The tables are little booths, so you feel secluded and unable to see your fellow diners. This is lovely for them nights alone where you want to have some privacy and enjoy some yummy food and drinks.
If you're going to spend a bit more than usual but don't want to be bothered by others, then definitely opt for Bob Bob Ricard. Take some mysterious insta shots of your food before wandering the streets of Soho after.

East London Things To Do When Alone at night
Emirates Air Line
The Emirates Air Line provides a unique mixture of tourist attractions and public transport. It's mainly used to travel between Greenwich Peninsula and Royal Docks. The cable car is not usually an ideal form of travelling to work, but ideal to see the skyline from a bubble in the sky. This means you can explore the city affordably. Pay-as-you-go, a 20-minute trip is just £8. It's a terrific value!
We love going on the airline as it feels like you are on a theme park ride over the Thames. It is even better at night as the city is filled with lights and you really do feel the magic! On the way back, you can stop off at one of the many restaurants by the O2 Arena.
Boxpark Shoreditch
Boxpark is a selection of reused shipping containers that were converted into trendy shops that can be seen underneath Shoreditch Underground Station. East London has really gotten popular recently as a shopping or dining destination. Come to this area to find some fun shops, trendy restaurants and other things! If you miss the late night shopping, then pop up to the many food stands or the bar.
The atmosphere in box park comes alive at night if you are looking at getting right in the middle of London nightlife. Sit back, and people watch whilst enjoying great food and drinks. You definitely don't need to be part of a group to feel involved here!

Joker comedy Earls Court
For something a bit different to your ordinary entertainment, why don't you try a comedy club! In the Bolton in Earls court, Held is home to top-notch comedy acts seen on iconic shows such as Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week. Have a front-row seat in this intermate venue as you try and avoid being picked on by one of the many hilarious stand-up acts.
Enjoy a drink or some food as you make yourself at home in this great venue. Earls Court is a lovely area in West London for you to explore afterwards. Personally, we love a comedy club as it really brightens our spirits but doesn't drain our banks.
Royal Opera House
Are you looking for some culture and elegance? Based in the gorgeous Covent garden, the royal opera house hosts various performances to emerge yourself into. Feel like the main character whilst watching a breathtaking performance with some of the most talented opera singers in the country.
Treat yourself to this one-of experience whilst alone at night in London. You could even dress up for the occasion and enjoy the experience to the max! Romanticise your life and relax by listening to and watching the opera.
North London
Camden Market
Commonly known for a day trip, Camden market is also open late into the evening for those spending nights alone in London. Camden Market is actually made up of many separate markets, with more than 1,000 stalls of incredible variety. While Borough Market is our favourite, this is a close second when visiting London or finding things to do in London alone at night!
There's something for everyone- from food to fashion, furniture and more! If you're after something different to the many fashion stores, pop over to the Camden Lock Market for loads of antiques, clothing and souvenirs. Plus, for those looking for a taste of London culture, there are also a variety of food stalls that offer tasty British cuisines like fish and chips. Explore and get lost in several nooks and crannies, which is perfect for nights alone in London.

Primrose Hill
Primrose Hill is one of our favourite spots in London. With insane skyline views, this is beautiful both day and night. A 10-minute walk from the chalk farm tube station along the stunning primrose hill high street, you'll find the bottom of the steep primrose hill. Once you have pushed yourself up the hill, you are rewarded with, what we believe, is one of the best views in London.
You really get that magical feeling at night, like you are on top of the world. So either take some snacks and drinks up with you and make yourself a picnic in the summer or pop down to one of the local pubs and enjoy some food or drinks. It really is a must to do if you feel alone at night in London.
Things to do in South London alone at night 2022
Theatre
It would be rude not to fully take advantage of the Westend when in London. One-half of a couple things to do loves going to the theatre alone after work as it is the perfect activity to do on your own. Some of my personal favourites are Mama Mia and a new show called And Juliet, which has an amazing feel-good soundtrack.
You are spoilt for choice with so many notable titles to pick from, with outstanding world-class actors and actresses! The buzz is infectious in Theatreland, as it is known, and you won't feel alone! You don't need to have company to immerse yourself in a show!
Franks Peckham
Frank's in Peckham is an outdoor bar for the summer season. It has a festival vibe with drinks, food and music. It provides great views of the city too. Located in a multi-storey car park, it is definitely quirky and something different to snap on Instagram. It has a relaxed vibe, great for a party for one, allowing you to sit back and relax and watch an incredible sunset over the city in the summer. We love this spot as the pressure is off to dress up or book a table.
Central London
London Eye
If you fancy being a real tourist in London, the London Eye is a must! Personally, we think the London eye is the best to do a night. See the ground below you full of pretty lights and spot one of the many iconic landmarks of London, such as the Houses of Parliament and in the distance Canary Wharf.
If you are looking to treat yourself, indulge in a drink below the eye and admire the views from the river below. This is great to do at night alone in London as each pod holds several people, so you won't feel alone in the sky.
London Dungeons
For something a bit different to get the adrenaline going, take a trip to the notorious London Dungeons for a fright! It is great to get the blood pumping with fantastic real-life actors jumping out from dark corners.
Not only is it great entertainment, but it is also packed full of history about London so you might learn something to tell your friends or colleagues. Not only that, there is a humorous side to it to settle the nerves if the fright of the night gets too much! Based on the south bank of London, you can enjoy a walk along the Thames after.
V.R. bar Otherworld
This bar is a must for an extraordinary experience to boast to your friends about. Step into a virtual world to make not feel not so alone with a V.R. experience. Enjoy a drink whilst shooting some zombies or even pretend to flip burgers in your own cafe with the variety of games on offer.
The futuristic feel of the gaming pods makes you feel like you are in your own movie. It is great to forget your everyday life for an hour or two and immerse yourself in a V.R. world. It's ideal for nights alone in London as you can only do this by yourself, so you definitely won't feel alone!
Things to do in London alone at night 2022 and Items you may need
Battery bank
This is a useful item to have regardless of being alone but even more so when alone at night in London. As lovely and magical as London is, you must keep safe! Having your phone fully charged so you can keep friends and family informed on your where about is must a night.
Even though you may want to have a social media break whilst on your solo adventures, it is still wise to share your location with one or two people just in case! Also, a battery bank is ideal for making sure you can snap as many pictures as you want whilst out!
Padlock
Wondering what you could use a padlock for? If you stay in a hostel or leave your bag unattended at night, a padlock will be your best friend! Some places in London mean you have to put your bag in a locker room, so this can be a handy item! To ensure your safety when alone at night in London, a small padlock can help keep your mind at rest and allow you to enjoy your time wherever you are!
Personal alarm
Now, we hope this never happens, and it really is in the worst-case scenario, but if you ever find your safety compromised in any way, a personal alarm is a great way to get the attention you need. You should hopefully never have to use it, but it helps give you peace of mind when alone that you have that barrier of protection. We have linked a great one here!
Bear in mind that London is a capital city, so sh*t happens, and it’s best to always be prepared.
AfterShokz headphones
We love the technology used in these headphones as they allow you to still listen to your favourite music or podcasts as you explore the city alone at night. However, they still allow you to hear your surroundings.
Being safe alone in London is very important, and these headphones will enable you to stay aware of your surroundings by playing music into the side of your skull rather than directly in your ear!
