Games to Play at Home
1. Truth or Dare
An old classic and I must say, one of our personal favourites-Truth or Dare. This classic game is the perfect way to get to know your partner better and inject some fun into your routine.
You only need a few things: some friends to play with (if you're feeling extra adventurous), some snacks to munch on, and a willingness to let loose and have a good time.
To get started, take turns asking each other truth questions or dares. If you choose truth, get ready to reveal some secrets or answer some personal questions. And if you're feeling daring, choose to dare and be prepared to do something wild and crazy.
But be warned, this game can get a little intense, so it's important to make sure you and your partner are on the same page about what's off-limits. And remember, what happens in Truth or Dare, stays in Truth or Dare.
2. The Newlywed Game
To all the lovebirds out there, The Newlywed game is a perfect way to add some fun and friendly competition to your relationship. You know, that classic TV show where couples compete to see who knows each other best. Here's how to play:
Grab some paper and pens, and come up with a list of questions to ask each other. There are tons of question ideas online, or you can create your own. Then take turns asking each other questions about your likes, dislikes, and preferences. Write down your answers and see if you match up with your partner's.
The best part of The Newlywed Game is discovering new things about your partner and learning more about each other. And let's be honest, it's pretty hilarious when you both get the answer wrong and realise you're not as in sync as you thought.
So why not give The Newlywed Game a try? It's a fun and easy way to spend quality time together. But be warned, you may be humbled by how little you actually know about each other!
3. Board Games
Henry and I have had some pretty epic battles over a classic game of Monopoly. Let’s just say it doesn’t always lead to a happy ending! The good news is that there are tons of other board games out there that are perfect for couples to play together.
Now, the key is to pick a game that you both actually enjoy. Otherwise, things could end pretty quickly. If you're both into word games, go for Scrabble. Feeling strategic? Give Settlers of Catan a shot.
I know what you're thinking, "Board games are for kids." But hear me out. There's something about the competitive nature of board games that can really get the blood pumping. Plus, it's a great way to spend quality time together without breaking the bank.
Once you've chosen your game, it's time to set it up. Make sure you've got all the pieces and that they're in good condition. Nothing sucks more than a missing piece or a bent card. Then, decide who goes first. You could flip a coin, play rock-paper-scissors, or just take turns.
As you play, keep it light and fun. Trash-talking is definitely allowed (and even encouraged, in my opinion), but don't take it too seriously. And if things start to get too intense, take a break and come back to it later. It's not worth ruining your night over.
Grab your favourite board game, some snacks, and a drink or two, and settle in for a night of fun and friendly competition. Who knows, you might just learn something new about each other along the way.
4. Video Games
Have you ever considered playing video games together? We’ve tried it and, it is a fun thing to do as a couple. The key is to find a game that you both actually enjoy. None of that "pretending to like it for the sake of the relationship" stuff.
If you're into cooperative games, then you have to check out Overcooked. You and your partner will be virtual chefs working together in a kitchen, navigating obstacles and creating mouth-watering dishes.
For couples like us that prefer some healthy competition, you can't go wrong with Mario Kart. It's a classic racing game known to cause arguments yet strengthen friendships, playing it with your partner might actually be a lot of fun. Just be ready to throw some serious shade if they manage to beat you in a race.
Once you've decided on a game, make sure you have all the necessary equipment, like controllers or headsets. Then, cosy up together for a night of gaming.
5. Puzzle Games
Sometimes, you just want to kick back and relax with your special someone. And what's better than opening a bottle of wine and tackling a puzzle game together? Not much in my opinion.
Sudoku is a classic choice for those who love numbers and logic. Crossword puzzles are perfect for word nerds. If you really want to get intense, try a jigsaw puzzle. It may take a while to sort through all the pieces, but the satisfaction of completing the picture together is totally worth it.
A little friendly competition never hurt anyone. See who can solve their part of the puzzle first or who can complete the most puzzles in a set amount of time. Loser does the dishes? Just a suggestion.
Games to Play on Date Nights Out
6. Scavenger Hunt
Have you been looking for a fun and adventurous way to explore your city together? Why not try a scavenger hunt?
Picture you and your partner strolling through the streets, working together to solve puzzles and find hidden treasure. It really is a great way to create memories. The best part is that you can tailor the scavenger hunt to fit your interests and the places you want to go.
You can create a list of clues that will lead you to different locations throughout your city. Get creative with your clues! Make them challenging enough to keep you both engaged, but not so tough that you get frustrated and quit.
Once you've got your clues, hit the streets! Don't forget to bring your phones, a map of the city, and some snacks to keep you fuelled up. You never know where your adventure might take you or how long it will last.
And when you finally uncover the hidden treasure after solving all of the clues, it'll feel like winning the lottery (minus the cash prize, of course).
7. Escape Room
An escape room is a great game for couples. You get to work together to solve puzzles and clues. It's like being in a real-life video game, but way more intense.
You and your partner are locked in a room and you have to find a way to escape before the clock runs out. And the clock is ticking fast! You'll need to use your critical thinking skills and work as a team to uncover hidden clues and solve puzzles that will ultimately lead to your escape.
It's a great way to bond with your partner and see how well you work together under pressure. We did an escape room once and surprisingly Robyn was way better than Henry! But remember, you need to work as a team!
All you need to play is a sense of adventure, a willingness to work together, and maybe a little bit of luck.
8. Karaoke
Henry and I are not the best singers, but we have a good laugh picking out songs for each other to sing when we have karaoke nights. It's the perfect way to let loose, sing your hearts out and create some unforgettable memories together.
When we went to Amsterdam, we went to a karaoke bar and it was one of the funniest nights we have ever had! It’s a great activity to let your hair down!
Don't be afraid to get a little silly with your song choices - after all, karaoke is all about having fun. You can make cheeky videos and show them to your partner the next morning.
9. Bowling
Bowling is a super underrated date night activity. It's a great way to have some fun competition and maybe even show off your skills (or lack).
One of the best parts is creating your own challenges. Who says you have to stick to the traditional scoring system? Why not try bowling with your opposite hand or between your legs? Or maybe even try to knock down specific pins in a certain order. Get creative and have some fun with it.
So next time you're struggling to come up with a fun and unique date idea, consider bowling. It's a classic for a reason and you might just surprise yourself with how much fun you'll have.
10. Mini-Golf
Mini-Golf can be a real challenge. But don't worry, with the right course and some teamwork, you and your partner can conquer it.
To really make the most of your mini-golf adventure, choose a course that's packed with creative obstacles. From loop-de-loops to windmills and beyond, the more imaginative the obstacles, the better. That way, you'll have plenty of opportunities to work together to get that elusive hole-in-one.
One our first dates was actually at Ghetto Golf in Birmingham! Let’s just say, Henry almost didn’t go on another date with Robyn because of how bad she was at mini golf!
Don’t be scared to make some silly shots, cheer each other on, and maybe even indulge in a friendly bit of smack talk. Who knows, you might just end up with a new inside joke or two to share.

11. Two Truths and a Lie
If you’re not always with your partner but you still want to spice things up, try out "Two Truths and a Lie" This game will have you both laughing and guessing in no time.

16. Blindfolded Feeding
I believe every couple should try blindfolded feeding at least once. Blindfolded feeding is a great way to build trust and communication between partners, it can also be incredibly sensual and romantic.
Imagine the feeling of your partner's hands on your face as they gently guide the food into your mouth. It's a sensory experience that can really bring you closer together.
Here's how it works: one person is blindfolded while the other feeds them different types of food. The blindfolded person has to guess what each food is while enjoying the sensation of being fed by their partner.
It's also a great opportunity to have a bit of fun and get a little silly. Maybe you can even try feeding your partner something they don't like, just to see their reaction.
This game is a playful and exciting way to add some much-needed spark to your relationship. Give it a try and see where it takes you!
17. Love Letter Game
If you're looking for a fun and romantic way to express your feelings to your partner try the love letter Game! It's a simple concept: you and your significant other each write a love letter to each other, and then read them aloud over a candlelit dinner.
It might sound cheesy. But it's super cute and surprisingly heartfelt. Plus, who doesn't love a good candlelit dinner?
The best part about the Love Letter Game is that you can really let your creativity shine. You can write about how much you appreciate your partner, your favourite memories together, or even your hopes and dreams for the future. And reading them aloud to each other adds a whole new level of intimacy to the experience.
Writing a love letter can be pretty daunting. That's why the Love Letter Game provides the perfect opportunity to practice your romantic writing skills. And who knows? Maybe it'll inspire you to write even more love letters in the future.

One of the best things about playing pool is that it's a game that's easy to learn, but difficult to master. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, you can still have a blast playing with your friends. And if you're competitive, there's always the thrill of trying to sink more balls than your opponent.
